HOW TO PASSWORD PROTECT A FOLDER IN MAC
Step 1. Click on the spotlight search button on the home screen of your Mac.
Step 2. Search for Disk Utility and open it.
Step 3. Go to the home screen and click on the option File.
Step 4. Then select the option New Image and then Image from folder.
Step 5. Then select and choose the folder which has to be password protected.
Step 6. Once you open the file you will get an option called Encryption. Where you have to select 128-bit AES encryption(recommended) option.
Step 7. Next you will have an option called image format. Where you have to change it to Read/Write option.
Step 8. After that click on the option Save.
Step 9. Now you will get a pop-up screen wherein you will be asked to enter the password and verify it.
Step 10. Select a password of your own choice, you will have to enter it twice and then click on save.
Step 11. After that it will show you that the password protection is successful. Click on the option done.
Step 12. Now you can go to your desktop and try to open the folder. It will be password protected. Enter the password and click on ok the folder will open.
