How to Make an Outline in Google Docs
Step 1. Go to the Google Docs and open a new File.
Step 2. Then click the View option from the toolbar as you can see in the below image:
Step 3. From the drop-down list tap on the “Show document outline” option. As you can see in the below image:
Note: Alternatively, you can use CTRL+ALT+A or CTRL+ALT+H keyboard shortcut also to activate the outline panel.
Step 4. It will open the outline panel at the left segment of the file. Check the below image:
Step 5. Further, click on the sentence where you want to use google docs outline in the file.
Step 6. Now go to the Normal text menu available in the toolbar. As shown in the below image:
Step 7. It will open a drop-down menu for you. From here you have to select the Heading 1 option. Check the image below:
Step 8. As soon as you choose it,, you will notice that the font size of the sentence in the file increases and becomes bold.
Step 9. Also, you can see that particular heading appeared in the outline panel. As shown in the image below:
Step 10. You can add as many headings in your doc using the same option as above which will all appear in the outline panel.
