PDF is a universal format for documents that work on platforms like iOS, Android, MacOS and Windows. It is for this reason that they are popular since any PDF file can be shared between these platforms and there will be no problems. Plus, it ‘s possible to fill out forms and print them by editing PDF files on your Mac without buying software for that. For example, MacOS has built-in applications like Preview that allows you to highlight, underline, cross out text, add, delete or rotate pages, add text, arrows, notes, comments and more to PDF files.
How to Edit a PDF on Mac
Step 1. To edit pdf files on mac open the pdf file in the preview mode.
Step 2. Click on the pencil icon on the right hand side of the pdf. This tool is called markup tool.
Step 3. Click on the markup tool ( pencil shape) to open the markup toolbar.
Step 4. To edit pdf text on mac click on the [T] on the toolbar. After clicking you will see a text box will appear on the page. Write the text there. You can edit font size, font , text alignment and typographical terms like bold, Italic and Underline.
Step 5. You can also change the colour of the text
Step 6. To insert a box click on the icon showing half square and circle on the toolbar and then choose the shape of the box. The will appear on the page. Then adjust the location of the box.
Step 7. To change the colour of the box click on the icon showing two squares filled with colour.
Step 8. To sketch on the page click on the icon showing pen. A cursor will change into the shape of the pen. Draw the image on the page.
Step 9. In pdf editor for Mac you can also add a signature. Click on the icon showing a signature on the toolbar. A window will open with two options- Trackpad and Camera.
Step 10. The trackpad option is by default selected. Press on “Click here to Begin”. Slide the fingers on the trackpad to create a signature.
To clear the signature click on “Clear”
To cancel the adding of the signature click on “Cancel”
To put the signature on pdf click on “Done”
Step 11. The signature will add in your list. Choose the signature from the list to add on your page.
Step 12. To add the signature through camera. Put the signature on a plane paper with the dark thick black pen. Then put the paper in front of the camera. Click on the “ click here to begin” and later click the picture of the sign. The sign add in the list.
Step 13. To add post it on the page beside the text to put some message click on the icon showing a Note. Adjust the location of the note and start writing.
Step 14. To change the colour of the note click on the colour icon.
Step 15. To change the width of the line to create different shapes click on icon showing lines.
Step 16. To select a text click on AaI on the toolbar.
Step 17. To underline and strikethrough the text click on the pen icon on the right hand side.
Step 18. To highlight the text again click on the same pen icon and choose the colour of the highlighter..
Step 19. To rotate the text on the page click on the icon showing turning arrow on the right hand side.
