Step 1. Open “Start” and click “Run” on your Windows 10 desktop.
Alternatively, initiate Run Command by pressing the Windows key and R together from the keyboard.
Step 2. Type “Regedit” in the bar provided (without the quotes) and press “enter” or click “Ok”
Step 3. Allow that Registry editor “to make changes to your device” by clicking on “Yes”. The “registry editor” window appears as shown below:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies
Step 5. Right-click on “policies”, hover the cursor on “New” and click on “key”.
Step 6. Name the key as “system” and press “enter”. Right-click on the right side of the system and hover the cursor on “new” to click on “DWORD (32bit) value”
Step 7. Name the key “Disable registry tools” and press “enter”
Step 8. Double-click on it to edit the DWORD and change its value from 0 to 1 and then click “OK” to disable access to the Windows registry.
