Google Calendar is another of the Google applications that I use a lot. It is free, integrated into other applications, accessible from anywhere, including my Android phone and very easy to use. If you’re moving from Outlook or another calendar app, it may take a little while to get used to, but once you’re there, you’ll never look back. This tutorial will show you how to delete all your calendar events from Google Calendar, but it will also explain some other techniques to manage your calendar.

One of the reasons you may want to delete all events from your Google Calendar is because you are importing them from Outlook. Sometimes both create duplicate events for each imported reminder, so you end up with two of everything. If you delete your calendar from Google Calendar, you still have all your events in Outlook or another application to re-copy them.

Delete all Google Calendar events

Google Calendar is just like all other Google apps, but sometimes it takes a little research to find certain options.

  1. Enter Google Calendar here.
  2. Select the gear icon in the upper right and select Settings.
  3. Select the calendar you want to delete from the menu on the left.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the center screen, and select Delete in the Delete Calendar box.
  5. Confirm the warning that tells you: You are about to permanently delete all events from your main calendar. This action cannot be undone ».
  6. Select the checkbox to confirm “Yes, I want to permanently delete all events from my calendar.”
  7. Select Delete all events.

Your calendar will disappear and you can create a new one according to your needs.

Create new events in Google Calendar

Once removed, you can now create a new calendar and create new events, or import again from Outlook or another calendar application.

To create a new calendar, do this:

  1. Access Google Calendar.
  2. Select the gear icon in the upper right and select Settings.
  3. Select Add Calendar from the menu on the left and select New Calendar.
  4. Give it a name and description, and select Create calendar.

You can also create a calendar event from Google Search to save time. If you use Google as the default search engine, you can write an event and create it directly from the search without going into the Calendar.

  1. Type an event in the search bar. Something like an appointment with the vet at 12:30.
  2. Click Search and select Create Events at the top of the results.
  3. The event will be transferred to your calendar and will result in a reminder as you would expect.

Import Outlook events to Google Calendar

If you switch from Outlook to Google Calendar, you can quickly import one into another. You can create double entries, but now that you know how to clear your calendar, you can try importing again until it works.

  1. Open Outlook and select Calendar.
  2. Select Save Calendar on the right and save it as an iCalendar file.
  3. Select Date Range and set a full Calendar selection range.
  4. Select OK and save.
  5. Open Google Calendar and select Settings.
  6. Select Import and Export from the menu panel on the left.
  7. Select a file from your laptop or computer and import the iCalendar file that you have just created.
  8. Click on Import button and wait for it to complete.

This may take a few seconds or a minute or two according to the size of your Outlook calendar . If you’re lucky, there won’t be any duplicate input issues, but this process is prone to it.

Add interest calendars to Google Calendar

Although we use Google Calendar to manage work and life, you can also use it to track other events. There is a wide range of options that you can choose from. I have one that is NFL. There are many sports and other activities as well.

  1. Access Google Calendar.
  2. Select the gear icon in the upper right corner and now select Settings.
  3. Select Add calendar from the left menu and select Browse calendars of your interest.
  4. Select an option from the list and check the box next to it to import.

When you return to your calendar, you should see those events added to your main view. I have all the next games on my schedule, so I know who is playing who, where and when. However, there are other options besides soccer.

So this is how all Google Calendar events are deleted. We also cover creating a new calendar, creating events from Google Search, importing from Outlook, and adding interesting calendars. Do you have any more Google Calendar tips to share? Tell us about them below if you do!
