Likewise, you should also take into account that the weight reduction will affect the quality of the document. Therefore, it is very possible that if it is only text it will be less noticeable, but if the file includes images, the quality of these will surely be reduced. Open the PDF document with Preview. If you have not touched any of the settings, double-clicking will surely open it with this function.
